Requirements to be a committee member: Must be a LIAPG member in good standing, devote your time to enhancing the committee's goals, etc.
Events Committee The Events Committee plans and coordinates LIAPG’s professional, educational, and social events throughout the year. Responsibilities include selecting venues and speakers, developing event programming, coordinating registration and logistics, and identifying new opportunities for members to connect and share professional experience. | Committee Members

Outreach Committee The Outreach Committee promotes awareness of LIAPG and the geology profession throughout Long Island. The committee develops relationships with schools, colleges, professional organizations, government agencies, and community groups and identifies opportunities for educational programs, professional collaboration, and public engagement. | Committee Members

Membership Committee The Membership Committee supports the recruitment, engagement, and retention of LIAPG members. The committee welcomes new members, promotes the benefits of membership, assists with membership-related questions and initiatives, and works to strengthen participation within the organization. | Committee Members

Communications / Newsletter The Newsletter and Communications Committee keeps LIAPG members informed about association news, upcoming events, scholarships, sponsorship opportunities, and developments affecting the professional geology community. The committee prepares the LIAPG newsletter and coordinates website, email, and other member communications. | Committee Members

Scholarship Committee Established in 2026, the Scholarship Committee is developing and administering LIAPG’s new scholarship program to support students pursuing studies in geology and related fields. The committee is responsible for preparing the scholarship announcement and application materials, establishing evaluation criteria, coordinating the review of submissions, and recommending scholarship recipients to the Board. | Committee Members
